Private Anger Management Counseling
|
As a normal human emotion, anger is one of nature’s built-in instinctual methods of activating our mind and body to deal with threats to our well being. However, often we deny, avoid or hold in our anger until we can’t control it, impulsively react and then express it out in hurtful ways towards others. Anger Management Associates Counseling can help individuals take responsibility for their emotions by learning to self-manage their angry thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
Some people know where their surface and deep-seated angers come from while others do not. Anger Management Counseling can guide you in determining if you are carrying any stored anger from issues of the past. This stored anger often causes anger in present day situations to become out of proportion to what is really happening. Another benefit of private counseling is that the counselor can help you see your anger as a map to point to situations in your life that aren’t working the way you want them to and offer suggestions for making positive changes. Counseling also offers an opportunity for a spouse or partner to attend, to work with you on issues causing difficulties in your relationship. Issues that can be processed through private counseling include:
- Marriage, separation, divorce
- Verbal, physical and sexual abuse
- Mother/Father and other family issues
- Negative childhood programming
- Co-dependency issues
- Betrayal, rejection, abandonment issues
- Job stress, layoffs and career transitions
- Death, dying and caregiver issues
- Accidents, violence, natural disasters
- Veterans war-related issues and PTSD

Couples Relationship Counseling
Couples often fall into a painful blaming/criticizing cycle of relating. When this happens, we no longer feel safe to engage emotionally with our partner for fear of being hurt. We then lose the deep connection we once had and long for the support and bonding we felt at the start of the relationship.
This work helps couples strengthen their relationship by developing a positive style of relating. You will learn how to:
- Ask for what you really need from your partner
- Let go of blaming to become allies toward positive change
- Adopt a new, proven way of loving relationship
- Have caring conversations where neither partner feels criticized, blamed or judged
- Develop more respect, affection and intimacy

As parents and other family members, we know that becoming independent of our family is a natural ritual we all go through as a teen. However, it becomes painful when anger and frustration between the adults and young person prevents this process from happening with understanding, caring and respect. Family counseling can help everyone get on the same page and identify ways for each person involved to give and take to make this transition smoother. Help is available for situations involving:
- Chronic anger or frustration
- Impulsive reacting or acting out
- Defiance

Emotional Healing Therapy
|
Self-critical thoughts and self-limiting beliefs from past trauma can poison our present day relationships and lead to debilitating physio-emotional illnesses that drain our energy and affect our health and happiness. They can also prevent us from achieving our goals in life.
Core Emotional Release Work Therapy (CERWT) is an emotional healing technique that allows individuals to clear long-held anger and the other effects of traumatic experiences of the past. Lou offers a safe, nonjudgmental counseling environment to help clients release painful emotions and self-limiting beliefs from negative early life conditioning. When this emotional residue is cleared, one can feel empowered to move foward in their life, not waste energy being a victim of past experience, and create the life they want.
